Kenya is renowned for its world-class coffee, tea, flowers and fruit to name but a few. Imagine how special it would be to see and experience where these products that you consume and love come from! Kisima's agritourism program offers you this experience and involves active participation. You help on the farm by picking coffee or tea and enjoying them freshly brewed, milking a cow and supporting the everyday tasks on the farm.
This program brings together the backbones of Kenya's economy, which are agriculture and tourism. These are the two major activities that make Kenya what it is. You will have this unique experience of seeing products before they are in their end state. We shall walk you through flower, tea and fruit farming that will make you understand what takes place before these products are placed in the supermarket shelves. This is a fascinating experience.
The benefits from such farm visits are symbiotic: the local folk benefits from the small fees charged to the guests but most importantly, there is a knowledge transfer. The visitors learn how things are done and they also get to give their side of the story on how they do things from where they come from. In any case, you can always combine farm visits with a safari to the many wildlife reserves spread across the country. What a treat this can be!
On arrival you will be met by one of our representatives and your safari driver guide and be transferred to your overnight hotel in the city. Please note: if you arrive with a morning flight we have plenty of activities in Nairobi to offer you. Meals and overnight at a city hotel.
